Another Taste of MARUSEI: MARUSEI TOFFEE

In our previous blog post, we introduced the story behind the name MARUSEI.
The MARUSEI series takes its name from Marusei Butter, once made by the pioneering settlers of Tokachi, Hokkaido—where we continue our confectionery-making today. Their work and spirit contributed to Tokachi’s growth into one of Japan’s dairy heartlands, and that heritage is carried forward through the MARUSEI name.

While the MARUSEI BUTTER COOKIE SANDWICH is our most well-known item, it is not the only sweet in the series. Another quietly loved favorite is MARUSEI TOFFEE.

MARUSEI TOFFEE

This toffee is crafted from rich, buttery caramel, blended with biscuit pieces, roasted soybeans, and almonds.
Each piece brings together a variety of textures, creating a satisfying and well-balanced bite.

We often hear comments from our customers such as:
“It has a pleasant texture without being too chewy,” and
“It’s nicely balanced and not overly sweet.”

For the best way to enjoy it, we recommend not biting right away.
Let the toffee rest gently on your tongue first, allowing the rich butter flavor to slowly unfold. Once it softens slightly, take a bite—the biscuit offers a light crunch, followed by the crisp texture of soybeans and almonds, creating a gentle rhythm with each chew.

We hope you’ll take a moment to experience this taste inspired by Tokachi’s dairy heartland.
Samples are available in-store, so please feel free to try MARUSEI TOFFEE during your visit.
