Japanese Wild Rose “Hamanashi”

When we think of flowers that represent Hokkaido, our hometown and the place where our story began, one bloom stands out above all: Hamanashi (Japanese wild rose).

Also known as Hamanasu, this wild rose gets its name from a regional dialect in which the sound “shi” is pronounced as “su.” It grows naturally along coastal areas, blooming as a deciduous rose shrub with glossy petals and a quietly striking beauty.

This flower is more than just a symbol of Hokkaido for us—it has become an essential part of ROKKATEI’s identity.
You may notice the Hamanashi motif at the center of our shopping bags and across our confectionery packaging, where it gently reflects our roots and sense of place.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, a time when roses are traditionally shared, why not choose chocolate adorned with the Hamanashi pattern for someone special?
